Akhada Kushinagar: Imran Masood’s hate speech video is 6-month-old, says RPN Singh

In News Nation’s exclusive programme 'Akhada Kushinagar', hosted by the channel's senior editor Ranjit Kumar, Union Minister RPN Singh answered the questions raised by the people of Kushinagar.

The Union minister of state for Home is the Congress candidate and a current member of parliament from Kushinagar constituency.
The people of Kushinagar seemed to be satisfied with the work RPN Singh has done in his constituency.

When asked whether he will repeat the same and what are his future plans for Kushinagar, he said, "I have always been concerned about infrastructure development. I have worked a lot in these 5 years, but I admit the basic necessities still needs to be improved in areas like education and health. We are already working on an international airport.”

When asked whether he supports the ban on the rallies of Amit Shah and Azam Khan by the Election Commission, he said, "The Election Commission is doing its work. Action must be taken against those who are involved in controversial speeches."

On asking what he has to say about Congress candidate Imran Masood who made controversial statement against BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, he said, "When the Congress investigated, it was found that the statement was made 6 months back, when he was not a candidate of Congress."

When asked why no action was taken against Masood, he said, "We maintained a distance from him and asked him not to make such statements and the EC took action against him."

On asking why despite this the Congress allowed him remain the party candidate, he said, "He was already a Congress candidate and when we asked him not to repeat what he did six months ago, he followed and improved."

When about the allegations made by Prime Minister's former Media Advisor Sanjaya Baru in his book, he said, "The PM has himself given statement in this regard. He has already said that it was an attempt to misuse a privileged position and access to high office to gain credibility and to exploit it for commercial gain."
