New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has completed around one-and-a-half month in office and these days have been a mixed bag. While, the Modi government was praised for measures like forming SIT on black money, it was also criticized for decisions like hiking the railway fare.

The government also faced some tough challenges like the Iraq crisis and inflation. As if the troubles and controversies were not enough, a new challenge seems to be inching closer in the form of El Nino, the notorious weather phenomenon, which may leave the government in a tizzy.

Interestingly, this challenge is developing off the coast of Peru, South America, miles and miles away from the Modi government and the country.

El Nino is likely to be fully developed in September and October, but it is already being blamed for weak monsoon and vegetable price rise. It is also posing a threat of drought and poor agricultural output.

While the previous government was inefficient in containing inflation and price rise, thus losing to the BJP in the recent election, the expectations of the aam aadmi are even higher from the current government, which has promised to bring ‘achche din.’

Now the questions that remain are – will the Modi government manage to efficiently tackle the situation? Will aam aadmi get relief from sky-rocketing prices in the months to come? Will the BJP fulfill the promise to bring ‘achche din’?
