New Delhi:

Sporting a neatly trimmed silver beard, frameless glasses, and light beige tunic, the combative Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, who turns 64 on September 17, still has the capability to woo any woman across all age groups.

The ‘appealing’ politician holds a special place in the hearts of women from urban markets to rural households across India. Is it his strong male presence or the aura that he is in control?

Whatever the reasons are, but some women drool over the politician as they believe that Namo represents the strongsilent prototype. He is a man whose actions speak more than his words and focuses unambiguously on masculine concerns and cares a damn about metrosexuality.

‘He is definitely a man of his words,’ states Reeta an HR professional. “A no-nonsense man, Modi sells dreams, which he is capable of turning into reality unlike others,” she added.

In recent times, Modi undoubtedly has become a hit with the ladies. Some consider him the ‘most eligible bachelor’, while others find the 64-year-old charming, suave and extremely well turned out.

An ardent Modi fan, Rakhi Mehta made it clear that she loves the man. “He is bold, has an appeal and is a determined decision maker.” She also made the most unlikely comparison by saying, “Modi is like Atal Ji- only he is much smarter.”

Well, the man is surely unbeatable at his work. Over a decade now Modi has carefully crafted his image as a tough, no-nonsense leader. If Modi’s fiery speeches ahead of Lok Sabha polls were not enough, his tedious but inspiring foreign trips and no-corrupt image has certainly made him a populist leader.

It is a known fact that the love of women for strong male leaders is not a new phenomenon. But with the mysterious glow and ‘aura’ that surrounds Modi, female following and attention becomes a must for this really powerful and dynamic leader.

Remember Mallika Sherawat singing a jingle calling Modi ‘the most eligible bachelor’ on his 63th birthday! Or be it Sherlyn Chopra expressing her desire to be Narendra Modi’s personal assistant; women go ‘gaga’ over our very own PM.

But, all that glitters is not gold and the same applies to Mr Narendra Modi.

Peeking at his negative side, there is still a section of females who fear him, consider him a power-monger and ruthless leader.

In words of Neeru, an advertisement expert, “Why should I like him? He was Mr Nobody 15 years back, all of a sudden due to some marketing skills he gained some popularity. So should that bother me; I cannot love him for that.”

Another one Mrs Disha Sharma, a housewife, adds, “He is more feared than loved. More admired than respected. He is a tyrant. Who can love a man who left his wife for some sainthood. Are this the traits of a leader who has also become our 15th Prime Minister.”

With such answers it seems Namo is definitely a misfit in certain girls’ case and unfortunately falls into the reviled category.

“When a woman looks at a man with any level of interest, she generally asks herself a set of absurd questions, starting with: Is he 'husband material'? Would I like to make babies with him? Is he a keeper? And I think the answer to that is no,” comments Shobha De, a noted writer in one of her articles.

So let us be upfront about this- what women want in a man and more than that in a PM? Well, he should be peace loving, be able to shoulder responsibilities, is communicative and excel as a leader instead of a tyrant. In that case Mr Modi you still need to work hard and become the cynosure of the fairer sex if you want ‘Achche Din’ for yourself.
