Nominations for the Kairana Assembly by-polls has started with the Returning Officer issuing notifications in this regard here.
Sub-Divisional/Returning Officer Suresh Chand Sharma after issuing the notification for the Kairana Assembly constituency by-elections in Uttar Pradesh, said that the nomination procedure has been initiated. He said that the nominations would continue till September 27 and the elections would be held on October 15.
“2,82,130 electorates including 1,26,194 women would exercises their franchise in the by-elections in Shamli district for Kairana seat, which was announced after the BJP MLA Hukum Singh resigned after getting elected to Lok Sabha,” he said.
To ensure smooth conduct of elections here, the District Magistrate has directed that video recordings of public meetings of important leaders of recognised parties be prepared and screened.
District Magistrate NP Singh said here that officials have been directed to do the needful and that several steps have been taken to conduct free and fair elections.
SP has already declared its candidate Nahid Hasan for the seat but BJP, Congress and RLD have yet not announced their party candidates.
