New Delhi:

Looking at the sky, a class three student Deergha asks her mother if she could see the aircraft carrying Prime Minister Narendra Modi to America. This shows the enthusiasm of people for NAMO's visit to the USA. Not only enthusiasm; but expectations are sky high from this much awaited trip of the Indian Prime Minister as there are great possibilities in the fields of science and technology, defence, arms manufacturing, exchange of knowledge, better VISA facilities for Indian professionals working in the USA.

Nirmal Sharma, a software professional working in the USA on a five years' work permit wants his aged father to come and stay with him but the process is hindered for last one and half year due to tough VISA norms. He wants NAMO to raise the VISA issue before Obama so that hundreds of professionals working abroad might bring and keep their family member with them.

Expectations are sky high across the borders as an undergraduate student Sarika describes Narendra Modi's trip as a golden opportunity to invite US educational institutes for partnership with Indian ones to provide quality education at affordable cost. Sarika says it will make international standard education available for all.

Health is a core area along with employment and education which could benefit greatly with mutual partnership. A medical professional and expert of Community Medicine, Dr. Surya Bali who has been educated in the USA, says that affordable health service is the key to a healthy India. He suggests that frequent exchange of health professionals might bring new hope for treatment of some major diseases which are considered incurable in developing countries.

Narendra Modi's visit to US is being considered very important in view of recent incidents of ceasefire violation by Pakistan and frequent intrusion by Chinese army. A defence personal said on condition of anonymity that US might come as great alliance to provide some of the most advanced defence technology and effective arms which will make India stronger and more capable of facing daily challenge from its neighbours like Pakistan and China.

There are some interesting views associated with Narendra Modi's voyage across the continents. Social activist Anu Verma says, Modi must see and implement the policies for gender sensitisation and equality. Anu believes that India could learn a lot from the US on women security and a restriction free society. Another social worker Rohitashwa Kumar has a similar view and says that just another diplomatic visit to US won't help until and unless important lessons are not learnt in right perspective.

Amidst the sky rocketed expectations and people's hopes to bring the great American Dream to India, it would be a challenge for NAMO to keep the pace as well as making the visit fruitful. In the meantime, Deergha has come closer to the window so that she doesn't miss NAMO's plane so that she could wish him all the best.
