The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won a complete majority in Haryana but it is still in dilemma to choose a leader for the post of Chief Minister. According to party sources, the legislature party will meet on Tuesday in Chandigarh.

BJP observers Venkaiah Naidu and Dinesh sharma will hold consultations with MLAs and the same will be conveyed to party president Amit Shah, say sources.

According to sources, BJP is also deliberating whether to appoint a Jat or a non-Jat as chief minister. 

If the party goes for a Jat CM, then Captain Abhimanyu Singh is the frontrunner, while Manohar Lal Khattar’s name has emerged in case the party opts for a non-jat CM, sources said.

BJP Haryana in-charge Kailash Vijayvargiya said, "We didn't look at the caste when distributing tickets. Venkaiah Naidu will visit Chandigarh on Tuesday to hold consultations with MLAs and we will convey it to the party president."
