Veteran Pakistan batsman Younis Khan’s ton helped his side gain some stability after a faltering start on the opening day of the first Test against Australia.

Younis along with batsman Azhar Ali provided some stability after openers Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammad Hafeez fell for three and a duck respectively. Ali hit 53 before he was caught out by Alex Doolan off paceman Mitchell Johnson’s delivery.

Younis hit 103 before he was trapped leg before wicket by Johnson. Younis’ ton provided some relief to Pakistan and helped the team reach 200 in 81 overs and five extra deliveries.

Captain Misbah-ul Haq and Asad Shafiq are batting for Pakistan currently on their individual scores of 30 and two respectively. At the time of filing of this report Pakistan were 208 for the loss of four wickets in 87 overs.
