Bhopal:
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is organising a mega conclave in Bhopal from Thursday ahead of the municipal elections in the state.
BJP’s top brass including Sushma Swaraj, Anant Kumar, Venkaiah Naidu, Narendra Singh Tomar and Shivraj Singh Chouhan will participate in the event.
BJP president Amit Shah will reportedly not inaugurate the mega conclave. No reason has been given by the state unit for the same. However, Shah will join the program on October 31, BJP sources have said.
The conclave is organised as part of the BJP’s plan to continue its winning streak in upcoming local body elections as well by replicating its stellar performance it had pulled off in Assembly polls in 2013 and in Lok Sabha elections held in May.
Elections to the local bodies are slated for November-December.
