The uncensored scene is from a song in the film. The film has courted controversy as it is reportedly a biopic on painter Raja Ravi Varma.
A court in Kerala had on Wednesday stayed the release of the film owing to its controversial subject and bold trailer.
The film, directed by Ketan Mehta, explains the relationship between the famous painter and a devadasi - Sugandha.
