New Delhi:

As they say Happy Ending is a ‘comedy about romantic comedies’, the film barely falls on these lines instead it can be characterised as a satire on Husband-wife and boyfriend-girlfriend relationships.

As I just mentioned satire, there are moments which will definitely make you laugh out loud. For example, Montu (Ranvir Shorey) literally begging his wife for an outing with his only friend in town Yudi (Saif Ali Khan). But, there are some moments, especially in the second half, where you will be left with only one thing ‘disappointment’.

The film may soothe audiences who could connect with the situation. Ahhh! And they could be located only in youth. But, for most of the viewers this will be just a comic act running on 90mm screen. And rest will keep guessing what the Happy Ending is?

Three things which made movie a bit interesting were – Govinda’s comic act as a superstar of Cineplex, Ranvir Shorey as Patni-peedhit husband and Yogi (Yudi’s spirit).

Apart from that, there were two beautiful ladies – Kalki Koechlin and Ileana D’Cruz – who were stealing the show. On one hand Kalki was handling the comic part and on the other hand Ileana was taking care of emotions. One thing common for both was that they did not get much to show what they have got.

Let’s also talk about Saif Ali Khan, who could be credited as a master of acting only if compared with his acting in Humshakals otherwise he has just justified his character of Yudi. Though Yogi’s act saved some respect. The living legend Govinda, who made a comeback in Bollywood with Kill Dil, did an awesome job. He did a long cameo but those few minutes land straight in heart. The best and not to be missed scene is his six packs. The film also presented Kareena Kapoor and Preity Zinta in the small cameos. Kareena started the show with humorous fight and Preity ended it with the memories of Salaam Namastey.

The songs are enjoyable and are already in many chartbusters. Be it romance with Mileya Mileya or dance on G Phaad Ke, the songs do not disappoint for sure.

Go Goa Gone producers, who turned directors with this have done a good job but failed to create the connection and also arouse emotions which is must in a rom-com.

Final Verdict: The film is a satire, you may like it. Watch it for Ranvir Shorey, Govinda and Yogi.
