Lucknow:

Another shocking twist came to the 'Ganga dead bodies probe' after Uttar Pradesh government tried to hide the evidences found exclusively by News Nation in Unnao on Wednesday.

As shown, the bedside where several unclaimed bodies were found by News Nation team on Tuesday has now been filled with mud. When contacted, the JCB officials were heard stating that the step was necessary to reach the 104 unclaimed dead bodies.

However, News Nation questions that if the channel was able to reach the spot with ease then why was it difficult for the state government officials.

Shankaracharya Narendranand, who with his followers reached on the spot to offer prayers on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, called it a heinous crime. He even asked the Akhilesh government to step up probe immediately.

Hitting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Clean Ganga' movement, hundreds of dead bodies were found floating in the river on Tuesday. The disturbing visuals showed stray animals eating the dead bodies. Police reached the scene after News Nation's revelation.

Unnao SDM Mr Shukla has ordered probe into the case. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav assured that the state government is taking the issue very seriously.

The matter which was shown exclusively by News Nation was also brought to fore before Central government.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said that state government should thoroughly probe the deaths in Unnao and initiate strict action against those found guilty.

When asked about disposal of dead bodies in river Ganga, Singh said, “Clean Ganga is our mission. It may take time.  There should be a ban on disposing dead bodies in the river and state government should initiate in this regard.

The medical of dead bodies found in Ganga River will be undertaken today.
