In a shocking revelation, discovery of more than 100 skeletal remains from the Unnao police line area stoked a controversy on Thursday demeaning the role of Akhilesh Yadav government and Uttar Pradesh police.  

News Nation on Thursday released an exclusive footage showing more than 100 skeletal remains discovered in a room in Unnao police line.

According to sources, the skeletal remains were found in a sack and were negligently kept in the room.

When News Nation reporters dared to go behind the closed door, the guesome image was shocking. The reporters found that nearly 100 skeletons were left in a pathetic condition in the room.

Notably, this room is located opposite to the servant quarters and a police station. A constable was also found near the door.

When contacted, police officials remained mum on the situation and agreed to respond only after further investigation.

Senior Superintentendent of Police (SSP) Ramkishan Yadav, who reached the spot in 5 minutes, said to News Nation that probe is on.

According to senior BJP leader, Laxmikant Bajpayee, "Law and order is in a poor state in Uttar Pradesh. We want the District Magistrate to be suspended. My party workers are also reaching the spot."

Congress leader Meem Afzal expressed dissatisfaction regarding UP govt's rule in the state. He said, "Modi government must look into the matter."

However, KC Pandey, Samjawadi Party National Secretary, refuted all charges and maintained that UP government will investigate the case and proper action will be taken against the guilty. 

Notably, this is the second incident where UP govt's role came into was question on Thursday.

Two weeks back on January 14, 2015, hundreds of dead bodies were found floating in the River Ganga. The disturbing visuals showed stray animals eating the dead bodies. 

After the channel’s exclusive expose, Home Ministry also sought a report from UP govt following which the investigations are still on.
