New Delhi:

More than a documentary and less than a fairy tale, there is an unnamed genre where movies enthral yet proclaim knowledge. Ayushmann Khurrana and Pallavi Sharda’s Hawaizaada belongs to the same genre.

Tagged with ‘U’ certificate, the film presents a story of honest and loyal Shivkar Bapuji Talpade, who is credited to have constructed India's first unmanned plane, with some added twists and flavours.

For movies like this where climax is not a mystery, director Vibhu Puri and lead actors did their best and performed the intriguing script with excellence.

Ayushmann Khurrana, who gave a makeover to his Punjabi boy image, surprised all with his mind blowing expressions; looks and attire were added advantages. The ‘Nautanki Saala’ actor perfectly played the character which was entangled with emotions, love, failure, drama and courage to go beyond limits. With enough given space to perform, Ayushmann successfully enhanced his lover boy image and added versatility to it.

Mithun Chakraborty as Pandit Subbaraya Shastry can be credited as the charm of the film. He played the most important role centralised with the base character. From the character of a teacher to scientist to believer Mithun da was dancing the delivery with distinction. It was actually his dream to see an Indian man flying but an unfortunate incident that happens unexpectedly turns things around and becomes a reason for Shivkar’s life.

Pallavi Sharda, who was last seen in ‘Besharam’, plays a character to adore. She has given an answer to all who thinks she is a foreign actress and has very less to offer. Starred in an item number, she played a character of Sitara, who earn living by selling her dance and body. Her life transforms after she becomes the darling of Shivkar. Resulted in refreshment, she performed much better than her previous characters, but calling this as the best of her would be too much to praise for.

On one hand powerful acts were placing the film in ‘a must watch’ category and on the other hand the songs were treating ears to prove the placement right. From romantic numbers to item songs, there was at least one song to greet every possible genre. My personal favourites from the list are 'Daak Ticket' and 'Turram Khan'.

Ayushmann Kurrana told me that every Indian will feel proud after watching the film; after watching it I can say that the movie ended on the notion it was intended for. Though Patriotism was not in abundance but was served enough to positively conclude Republic day celebrations.

Final Verdict: The film is a family entertainer that serves a feel good phenomenon and also take cares that the main concept does not fades away. A single watch is definitely its worth.
