Chinese President Xi Jinping to break protocol, to hold rare talks with Sushma Swaraj

According To Sources, Chinese President Will Meet Swaraj On Monday Afternoon At The Great Hall Of The People, The Expansive Chinese Parliament Building In Beijing Where Foreign Heads Of State Are Usually Welcomed.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj arrived in Beijing on Sunday on a three-day visit during which she will discuss bilateral, regional and global issues of concern to both sides with her Chinese counterpartWang Yi.

"Ni Hao. External Affairs Minister @SushmaSwaraj reaches Beijing on 1st visit for talks with Chinese leadership," tweeted Ministry of External Affairs ( MEA) official spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin.

Setting a new trend, Chinese President Xi Jinping will also hold rare talks with Swaraj. 

According to sources, Chinese President will meet Swaraj on Monday afternoon at the Great Hall of the People, the expansive Chinese Parliament building in Beijing where foreign heads of state are usually welcomed.

She will inaugurate the second India-China High-Level Media Forum and attend the launch of Visit India Year during her stay in Beijing.

The External Affairs Minister will also participate in the 13th Foreign Ministers' meeting of Russia-India-China trilateral, and will meet Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the meeting.

Swaraj is being accompanied by new Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar among other senior officials.
