New Delhi:

The wait gets over for both Shamitabh and a good movie of 2015. R Balki’s fresh collaboration with Amitabh Bachchan garnished with talented Dhanush and beautiful Akhasra Haasan is a package done by master to the perfection.

Shamitabh is R Balki’s narration of two superstars who are ‘zero’ if alone and ‘hero’ if join hands together, the link between them is Akshara’s character. The story is a complete fiction on how technology can actually give voice to a dumb man and transform his life forever. It also intrigues with the facts that growing stardom bangs straight on mind and if you fail to understand ABCD of life, the results may not go in your favour.

Dhanush has played the character of a dumb man, who was born in a village and wanted to become a hero. But who accepts an actor with no sound? Well, from this question begins his journey on how he chases his dream and don’t stop till he has turned everything into reality. His character deals with many ups and downs, some emotional breakdowns and his accomplished desire.

Dhanush has played his role with zeal and there were many moments where his body language was speaking much louder than his expressions. This could be an advantage for an actor but I see it as a strategy to dissipate competition with your co-actor, in this case it was Amitabh Bachchan.

Big B, who is obviously unquestionable for his acting skills, plays the character of a struggler who is about to fade because none finds interest in his body and voice. And to take revenge he sells his voice to Danish. This revenge story unfolds many lessons which one could adapt in his life to make it worthy. Remember Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Sharabi’ act? Shamitabh extends it a bit. Big B is drinking more alcohol even on international platforms and Sharabi’s ‘Munshi Ji’ has been transformed in to innocent looking Akshara Haasan.

Kamal Haasan’s youngest daughter made her debut with the film and she definitely knows how to act good with engraved innocence. As mentioned earlier, she is the link or lifeline (like Big B’s KBC) for Danish to move step ahead in path of success.

R Balki, who had earlier created master pieces like ‘Paa’ and ‘Cheeni Kum’ with Amitabh Bachchan, has presented the story which is simple, yet thumps on many phases of life, almost an entire life cycle.

So far you must be thinking it is an intense tale and may bore many audiences. But wait, its opposite to what it looks like. The film runs on a much lighter note and the impact remains uncompromised. For instance, ‘Piddly’ song in loo is an innovative idea but laughs and giggles get set when its extension gets revealed in the film.

With so many offerings, film’s climax lands you to the heart wrenching emotions and leaves you with teary eyes and automatic eruption of praise for both director and Amitabh Bachchan.

Final Verdict: Studded with substance and powerful acts, film is meant for all and definitely deserves a single watch.
