PM inaugurates two power units each of 600 MW in Khandwa, MP

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived here today en route to Khandwa district where he will inaugurate two units each of 600 MW capacity of Singaji Thermal Power Project.

The Prime Minister was accorded a warm welcome at the airport by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

“Modiji wished the Chief Minister on the occasion of his 56th birthday,” Indore Mayor Malini Gaud, who welcomed the Prime Minister on his arrival at airport, said.

Modi also wished Chouhan through twitter and described him as his “friend and a popular Chief Minister.”

“I wish the popular MP Chief minister and my friend @Chouhan Shivraj ji on his birthday. I wish him good health and long life,” he tweeted in Hindi.

Modi along with Chouhan later left for Khandwa.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the second phase of 2x660 MW unit at the thermal power project in Khandwa.
