After Jawaharlal Nehru snoop exploded on Friday, his family members called for a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Germany, he is currently in France on a three nation tour.
“Surya Bose, 65, Netaji's grandnephew and a prominent German businessman, is among notable members of the Indian community who will meet Prime Minister Modi in Berlin. The reception is being organised by the Indian embassy in Berlin's Hotel Adlon on Monday evening,” stated news report by India today.
Modi will be in Germany to inaugurate the Hannover Messe trade fair along with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Sunday.
Merkel will receive Modi when he arrives at the Hannover trade fair grounds on Sunday evening and afterwards they will attend the opening ceremony of the annual Hannover Fair, the world's largest show of capital goods and technology.
The two leaders are scheduled to address the gathering at the Hannover Congress Centre.
The meeting has been called on the backdrop of reports of snooping by Nehru government on Subhash Chandra Bose kin.
Surya is the eldest son of Netaji's nephew Amiya Nath Bose, who was one of the targets of an unprecedented IB surveillance on Netaji's family.
Intelligence Bureau kept relatives of Subhas Chandra Bose under close surveillance for two decades, most of which was during Jawaharlal Nehru's tenure as Prime Minister, according to archival material, triggering a political controversy.
The IB sleuths intercepted and copied letters written by the Bose family and even trailed them on foreign tours.
Bose's family reacted to reports with "shock" and said it was a "poor reflection" on the quality of democracy at that time.
