Johannesburg:

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has admitted that the prospect of playing alongside Argentina football team captain Lionel Messi and Brazilian superstar Neymar on joining the club had made him feel timid.

The Uruguayan, who arrived under a cloud following his ban for biting at last year’s World Cup, has made a rapid adjustment to life at Barca and has scored vital goals to help put them on course for a treble.

Barca will face Paris Saint Germain on Tuesday looking to book a place in the Champions League semifinals with a 3-1 lead from the first leg in which Suarez scored a brace, Sport24 reported.

Suarez has scored 19 goals in all competitions for Barca but most importantly he has found the net in key games since arriving from Liverpool.

Suarez said that when he arrived he was timid with Messi and Neymar but they just said to him to play as he had done at Liverpool, adding that now he feels fine off and on the pitch and they have a good time together.

The striker also said that he has concentrated on being level-headed and that his team mates have helped him fit in at the club. He said that he always has gone out to try and do well and he didn’t listen when it was said that he was the best in the world or the worst, insisting that he is very self-critical and carries himself the same.
