A Muslim girl, living in Gujarat post Godhra, became accustomed with religious prejudice, however her dream of coming to Mumbai also brought her face to face with the harsh truth called reality.
She thought that Mumbai known for its cosmopolitan culture would treat her better but in vain.
Misbah Quadri, the 25-year-old communications professional on Wednesday knocked the doors of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) after her flat owner denied her entry to her 3-BHK apartment at Sanghvi Heights in Wadala because she is Muslim.

She was serached on Facebook by her two Hindu mates, however, when she tried to shift the apartment’s broker warned her that the housing society did not accept Muslim tenants.
When she tried to make peace with the broker, he said, "Sign a “no-objection certificate” and declare that if she faced any harassment from her neighbours because of her religion, the builder, the owner and the broker “would not be legally responsible.”
She thought that a compromise would be made letter but all thoughts vanished in thin air after the agent threatened her to vacate the house.
“He threatened to call the cops and throw me out of the flat. It got very ugly. The other women also had to pay a price for sheltering me as they have vacated the house unwillingly," she told media.
Few days back a Muslim candidate was rejected by Hari Krishna diamond Exporter group in Mumbai for being a minority candidate.
