Kerela:

Taking land’s fight to sea, Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday addressed fishermen convention in Chavakkad, a city in Thrissur district, Kerala.

While addressing the crowd, Rahul said, “NDA Govt is trying to take the sea away like they want to take land from farmers. I am going to fight with you, won’t let Govt take away your sea. Whenever Govt tries to take away rights of poor people they will be confronted by Congress.”

Praising Congress for empowering people of nation, Rahul slammed NDA for having different opinions.

He said, “The Kisaan is asking me, why NDA Govt is intent on destroying us. The biggest question farmers are asking is, why NDA Govt wants to take away our land without asking us. We made a law that would allow farmer to earn from his own land, NDA wants to destroy the law that protects farmers.”

He even accused Modi government of selling India’s gold- Land to their corporate friends.

“Land is Kisaan's mother, the sea is your mother and they want to take away your mother from you and give it to somebody else. Question is never whether they are efficient, the question is who are they being efficient for.”

Again taking a dig at Modi government for being a ‘suit boot’ sarkaar, Rahul said, “I realized thieves also come in the middle of the day, in bright sunlight wearing suits and those are the biggest thieves.”

On Tuesday also Rahul targeted Modi government on its first anniversary by saying, “BJP’s slogan ‘Namo’ was a synonym for ‘no action, maximum oratory”. He went on to explain why the Modi government was a ‘suit, boot ki sarkar’.”
