In an answer to Apple’s music service on demand, Spotify has raised $526 million in new fund raising program.
The music streaming service received a $115-million investment from the publicly traded Stockholm-based telecom firm TeliaSonera in financing round.
Spotify founder and Chief Executive Daniel Ek had tweeted "Oh ok" when Apple first announced its streaming music service, but the post was deleted after some time.
Apple on Monday launched a subscription streaming music service which is seen as a powerful rival to online services such as Spotify.
Apple Music will be available to users of iPhones and iPads from June 30 onwards. The service will be launched in 100 countries and include a radio station with personalized playlists which will enable users to listen music of their choice.
