New Delhi:

What to expect from an actor who is growing old only in terms of numbers, Arnold Schwarzenegger gets on to it and presents his young dashing look of 80’s, 90’s and also one from the current time, all packaged in one with Terminator Genisys.

Futuristic, engaging and upgraded is the latest edition of ‘The Terminator’ series.

Sticking to the good old formulae – save mother, save all – it flies a step ahead where machines are trapping humans to create a hybrid and rule the world. In 2029, John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human Resistance, leads the war against the machines. In Los Angeles, he is notified that Skynet will attack on two fronts - past and future. John assigns two units, one to strike at Skynet's main defense grid, and second to destroy Skynet's main weapon, a time machine hidden at a remote storage facility.

Interestingly, Skynet sends T-800 back in 1984 to kill John’s mother and change the future. Now, he sends Kyle Reese back in time to protect her. Engaging sequence not in terms of plot, but Arnold who is young, dashing, charming and wrinkle less. Well, only Hollywood money can buy such look.

Nothing less than a treat, muscle wrapped young Arnold fights with old self. Only few bucks spent on ticket can buy you such rare moments from Hollywood.

From this point movie changes gear and goes on a road which one can drawn by any spectator with an ease. Predictable plot stabs brilliant technology used in the movie.

John Conner, who plays a significant role in the second half, seems to be burdened with thoughts of a writer who got lazy in the end. Repetitive sequence blasting, magnetizing might shift your focus back to popcorns bought during interval.

Overall, Jason Clarke has given a decent performance which must leave a mark on audiences.

The moment Mr. Schwarzenegger entered “The Terminator”, he owned it! And same has been repeated in all his five parts, including Genisys. His flawless action sequence is unmatched and can easily give goose bumps easily to anyone.

Emilia Clarke loses her grace as director thought she looks great as a driver than a performer. In half of the sequences she grabs the driving seat and then meets the perception people have about women drivers. Bang Bang and boom! In simple terms, she could have been utilized in a better way.

Final verdict: It is a recap then a upgraded story of The Terminator (1984), studded with decent performances it is a must watch only for Arnold fans. Believe it or not he is the best!
