New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'SelfieWithDaughter' campaign saw several hillarious posts too. But, the one which would have shocked PM himself was- the New York Times posted a photograph of Digvijaya Singh with noted journalist Amrita Rai.

This photograph was actually a prank by a Twitter user who used the hashtag #SelfieWithDaughter with a tag line that read "Okay Diggy raja mistook #SelfieWithDaughter for selfie with daughter-aged GF...ROFL."

However, NYT clearly missed the joke and tagline and carried the photograph along several other "regular" selfies of fathers with their daughters with a detailed report on Modi's initiative.

The photograph which leaked last year on Twitter and Facebook showed the couple in intimate gestures. After the tweet Congress leader went public with the relationship saying that the two would be married soon.

NYT later remover the photo from their site and published an apology with the post.

How the NYT missed the hint remains a mystery. Anyways gaffe by NYT really brought smiles on many faces today.
