Bhopal:

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday issued clarification regarding his role and responsibilities in the infamous Vyapam scam.

Addressing a press conference, MP CM said, “I trust STF inquiry. SIT was also formed. I have no doubts on the kind of inquiry that will be conducted. I have full faith in judiciary but recent events have led to an atmosphere that investigation should be done by CBI.”

However, clearing the air on CBI inquiry, Chouhan said, “State Govt can’t give the case to CBI. Both SC & HC rejected the demand for CBI probe; HC monitoring the probe now.”

He also tried to keep himself away from the scam by saying, “The questions that have been raised must be addressed, I believe some doubts have been raised in the minds of people also. I am a very sensitive person, each and every death is very unfortunate.”

Targetting Congress, CM said, “Baseless allegations have been put on me. Cong doesn’t care about Vyapam, they only cared about targeting me. Baseless allegations made personally against me. Their accusations had nothing to do with deaths, just to spoil my reputation.”

“Though I’m satisfied with inquiry so far & having full respect for SC & HC’s order, I appeal for CBI probe keeping in view public sentiment,” the MP CM said.
