CBI registers another FIR in Vyapam scam

CBI On Thursday Registered 15th FIR Against 64 Persons Including OSDs Of State Ministers In Connection With Its Probe In Vyapam Scam, Taking Over Investigations In The Case Of Police Constable Recruitment Examination In 2013.

CBI on Thursday registered 15th FIR against 64 persons including OSDs of state Ministers in connection with its probe in Vyapam scam, taking over investigations in the case of Police Constable Recruitment Examination in 2013.

Dr Pankaj Trivedi, the then Controller of Examinations, Vyapam; Om Prakash Shukla, the then OSD to the Minister for Technical Education; Dhanraj Yadav, the then OSD, Raj Bhavan;

Nitin Mohindra, the then System Analyst, Vyapam and Ajay Kumar Sen, Sr System Analyst, Vyapam were among 64 suspects named in the FIR, CBI sources said.

CBI spokesperson said case has been registered under IPC sections related to criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery among others besides provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act and violation of Section ¾ of the M P Recognised Examination Act.

A 40-member CBI contingent headed by Joint Director R P Agarwal, a 1986 batch Assam-Meghalya cadre IPS officer, is probing the Vyapam cases.

A Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice H L Dattu had on July 9 transferred the probe of all Vyapam cases, including the related deaths, to CBI.

“On the directions of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, CBI has taken over the investigation of the said FIR which was earlier registered by the Madhya Pradesh Police. Further process of taking over of remaining cases is under way,” CBI spokesperson said here today.
