Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday celebrated Rakshabandhan and greeted people on the festival of Rakshabandhan.

Modi tweeted, "On the occasion of Rakshabandhan, I extend my greetings to all citizens."

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also celebrated Raksha Bandhan in Haridwar with his sister Dr. Ranjana Gupta.

"Greetings to everyone on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. I hope all sisters remain safe and I pray to God that everyone remains safe," Kejriwal told media here.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tied Rakhi to Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu on the occasion of Rakshabandhan.

"Indian traditions and culture are famous in the entire world. I would like to wish that we all work together and make India grow. I would like to wish entire India on this festival of Rakhi," said Swaraj.

"Today is the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan. Sisters ties Rakhi to brothers and wish for their long life and well being. I wish the entire nation on this occasion," said Naidu.
