New Delhi:
Five coaches of the Chennai-Mangalore Express derailed in Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu on Friday morning. The incident left at least 42 people injured.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.
The accident happened around 2:30 am. The train has now proceeded towards its destination but rescue work is still on to remove the derailed coaches from tracks.
Post accident, the routes of other trains on same track have been diverted.
