Bengaluru:

Online realty website ‘NoBroker’ today claimed its office here was ‘attacked’ by a group of brokers allegedly agitated over the company helping its customers ‘save’ brokerage.

“NoBroker office in Bengaluru came under attack today.  Around 40-50 brokers gathered and tried to take forced entry in the office premises with the intent of damaging property, battering employees and disrupting work,” a company release said.

It further said some of the company employees were ‘assaulted’ despite attempts for ‘peaceful discussion’, following which police were informed.

Police said no case had been registered and some persons came to the station and went back after being questioned in connection with the incident.

Calling the “attack” an attempt to hamper technology based evolution in the age of internet and mobile penetration, NoBroker said “This is clearly an indication of the disruption that NoBroker is causing in the real estate market which is leading to huge savings for the customer and the pinch is felt by the brokers.”

Claiming to be the world’s largest ‘Peer-to-Peer’ ecosystem in real estate with three lakh user base, NoBroker said it was helping customers save more than Rs 15 crore of brokerage every month in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune and Chennai.
