People celebrate the festival with great fervor in the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Devotees celebrate the 10-day festival with full rituals and enthusiasm and immerse the Ganesh idol on the 11th Day of the festival which is known as 'Ganesh Visarjan'.
