Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday gave tribute to BR Ambedkar, also known as father of constitution, indirectly taking a pot shot at actor Aamir Khan’s remark of intolerance in India.
"BR Ambedkar had to go through condemnation, insult and barbs, but he controlled his emotion and put forth and took an objective view for India. He never said how he was being ignored and insulted in India. He said I will stay in India and keeping India's values and culture in mind, I will strengthen the country," Rajnath Singh said in Lok Sabha.
The discussion on constitution was being held to mark 125th birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar.
"Our Constitution is a result of contribution of many great men. Baba Saheb Ambedkar had to face a lot of criticism, but he kept on presenting an objective point of view for a unified India," Singh added.
Singh further said that Baba Saheb was also the architect of the Reserve Bank of India( RBI) and the Finance Commission of India.
He also pointed out hoe Baba Saheb played an important role in bringing equality in the nation.
