Karnataka Elections: Congress will return to power with full majority, says Siddaramaiah

New Delhi:

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday said that despite Yeddyurappa’s claims of a BJP government, Congress will return to power in the southern state with full majority.

He said that BJP was good at making promises and but the party was very poor at keeping them.

“BJP is good at promising but very poor in keeping them. They may speak about Kannada Swabhimana because we have been upholding it. But, nobody should doubt their commitment to Hindi once in power. KS Eshwarappa even spoke in Hindi on the subject of Kannada pride,” Siddaramaiah said.

Hitting back at PM Modi’s remarks of corruption in Karnataka, the Chief Minister said that if the “callous statements” were to be true, the state would have not been ranked number one in attracting investments.

“If BJP’s callous statements on Karnataka were even remotely true, why would we be the No. 1 state in attracting investments for two years in a row?” he said while addressing journalists at the Press Club in Bengaluru.

Earlier on Saturday, PM Modi said that Siddaramaiah-led Congress government in Karnataka had looted the state.

He said that Congress party’s ministers and leaders in Karnataka had built a tank there, which was linked to Delhi through a pipeline to directly supply the looted money.
