The Ford is all set to launch its new EcoSport 2017 anytime soon. The company will launch it in late September or early October at the time of festive season, confirmed a company’s dealer. It will cost around Rs 1 lakh more than the previous variant.
However, the deliveries of the new Ford car will start in November only. The price of the outgoing EcoSport is ranged between Rs 7.10 lakh to Rs 10.38 lakh (ex-showroom price). As mentioned above the new EcoSport will cost Rs 1 lakh higher than the outgoing model, hence the new variant will cost between Rs 8 lakh to Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom price). Its competitors in the Compact-SUV segment will be Mahindra TUV300, Honda WR-V and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
Talking about its specifications, it will be powered by 1.5 litre petrol and 1.0 litre EcoBoost petrol engine. In the diesel variant, it will be powered by 1.5 litre engine. Besides this, there will be a 5-speed manual gearbox for standard variant. However, for some variants, there will be an automatic transmission.

This time, Ford has paid more attention to its looks (interior and exterior both). There will be a redesigned bumper and projector headlamps with LED DRL's. However, tailgate-mounted spare wheel will remain same as the outgoing EcoSport.
Ford is aware of the ongoing competition in the Indian market. That’s the reason, the company always comes with different schemes, plans and discounts. Earlier, in the month of May, it gave discounts of up to Rs 30,000 on its compact SUV EcoSport, sedan Aspire and Figo hatchback, to pass on the advantages of new tax rates aheaf of the implementation of Goods and Services Tax in July.
The company gave a discount on EcoSport in the range of Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000, which led the price fall between Rs 7.18 lakh and Rs 10.76 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). "We are happy to pass on (to customers) the expected benefits of GST ahead of its actual implementation," Ford India VP Sales Vinay Raina said in May.
