New Delhi:

If the state run Indian railways have anything to fear from, it is the aviation. Low cost domestic carrier Indigo has launched an all out war by introducing tickets as low as Rs 999 from Delhi to Jaipur.

As per a report on NDTV, the website of Indigo has also offered discounted fare between Bagdogra to Guwahati at Rs 1005; from Coimbatore to Chennai at Rs 1,095; from Jammu to Srinagar Rs 1,112 and Rs 1120 from Chennai to Bengaluru.

The flights between Delhi and Jaipur will be available from mid-January and for some days in February. The move by Indigo is seen as a step to woo both new and existing flyers.

Fares as low as this and at this time of the year is also seen as a step to woo travellers who plan their trips during vacations.

Data reveals that there has been an increase of 17.3 per cent on a year on year basis in the 2016-2017 period.

In November, a video showing an IndiGo staffer manhandling a passenger surfaced following which the airline has to apologise for the incident and said stern action has been taken against the erring employee.

In the video, a passenger is first seen being stopped from entering a coach, then pulled back by a ground staff. Another airline employee is seen restraining the traveller.

As the passenger fought back, he fell to the ground. It was not immediately known when the incident took place.
