Delhi: 24-year-old races super-bike, dies after losing balance near Barakhamba road on Monday

A biker breathed his last on Monday after he lost his balance on hitting a pedestrian while crossing the road. The incident took place near Lady Irwin College at Barakhamba Road at 9 p.m. on August 14, Monday.

The biker namely Himanshu Bansal (24) was accompanied by his fellow bikers Ghazi Khan and Lakshay Choudhary during the accident. While pedestrian suffered minor injuries, Himanshu’s friends escaped unhurt from the incident.

Talking about the same DCP (New Delhi) B.K. Singh has said, "They were coming from Connaught Place and going towards east Delhi. It appears they were racing...An elderly man was crossing the road near Mandi House metro station when Himanshu’s bike hit him, lost balance and hit the college wall."

Himanshu who was a resident of Vivek Vihar was taken to the hospital immediately. Passersby stopped an ambulance and managed to admit him to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. Delhi Police was also informed about the same.

According to reports, a camera was installed in Lakshay Choudhary’s helmet and police procured the footage of the whole incident, captured in the camera. A case has already been filed.

"24-yr-old boy killed after he lost control of his over-speeding bike&hit Lady Irwin College's wall. Case registered: BK Singh, DCP New Delhi," ANI tweeted a couple of minutes back.
