New Delhi :

The family of the twins, who died on Sunday after they fell into a washing machine in Rohini area, has requested police not to conduct post-mortem on the bodies.

The family of Naksh and Neeshu “are devastated and they requested us not to conduct post-mortem on the bodies of their children”, a police officer said.

“We have accepted their request. Since no foul play is suspected and the family has also given in writing that they don’t suspect anything suspicious, the autopsy hasn’t been carried out,” the police officer said.

He said that a pile of clothes was lying till the level of the washing machine and one of the twins probably peeped inside and fell in the washing machine.

The other brother probably did the same out of curiosity and fell inside the machine, he added.

When the mother returned, she didn’t find her kids and started searching outside and even made a PCR call, he said.

She also called her neighbours and they checked the footage from CCTV cameras installed in the housing society but they didn’t see anyone entering the house while she had gone out to get detergent, he added.

The woman, meanwhile, also called her husband, who arrived some time later, he said.

After they didn’t see anything suspicious, the couple started searching their home and the husband found the children inside the washing machine, he added.

They were rushed to the hospital but were declared brought dead.
