In a heartwarming incident reported from outer Delhi's Mangolpuri area on Sunday, a pet dog turned into a hero and a celebrity of sorts.
Tyson proved to be man’s best friend by showcasing extraordinary loyalty to its master.
Tyson’s master, a civic agency employee was attacked by a group of unidentified men with knives but the braveheart canine acted in time and pounced on the attackers to save the life of 58-year-old Rakesh, said the police.
Rakesh was feeding his dog Tyson outside his house on Sunday evening when four to five men attacked him with knives, said police.
An alert Tyson pounced on them and injured them severely. The assailants also attacked Tyson with knives but Tyson kept fighting them forcing them to flee the spot.
Meanwhile, Rakesh's family members were alerted by the commotion and came outside the house and took the injured Rakesh and Tyson for medical care.
The police added that the culprits have been identified and efforts are on to trace them.
