Mumbai:

Two persons injured in a massive fire that broke out at a slum in suburban Mankhurd on Thursday evening, a fire brigade official said.  Rescue operations underway.  

The fire broke out at the slum at around 6:30 PM at Mandala in Mankhurd.

17 fire engines with 8 jumbo tanker and 5 water tanker were rushed to the spot. Five ambulances reached the spot.

Those injured are 30-years old Raju Yadav who sustained 10-12 per cent burn; and Aju Pal, 40-years old,  inflicted 14 per cent burn injuries were admitted in Shatabdi and Rajawadi Hospital.

All the roads leading to Mankhurd are heavily traffic ridden.

The BMC has shifted the slum dwellers to three municipal schools namely, Mankhurd Municipal school, Deonar Colony Municipal School and Mankhurd Marathi Municipal school.
