At least two people were killed after a massive fire broke out at a three-storeyed building in Ashapura compound, an industrial estate, at Khairani road in Sakinaka on Friday evening. At least 15 fire tenders reached the spot immediately and started the fire fighting operations. Now, the fire has been doused.

“Bodies of one male and one female, who had gone missing in the fire, recovered. One other person still missing. Search operation underway,” said Mumbai fire brigade.

Initial reports stated that flight operations were affected due to the plumes of smoke as the airport is close to the factory where the fire broke out. However, Mumbai International Airport Limited refuted these rumours saying that the flight operations were not affected.
