ICSE ISC results 2017 not to be declared today: CISCE Chief Executive Gerry Arathoon

This Year The ICSE Class 10 Exam Was Held From March 10 And Concluded On April 21. Earlier The Exam Was Scheduled To Begin From February 27 And End On March 31, Commenced On March 10 And Concluded On April 21.

New Delhi:

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) will not announce the ICSE Class 10th exam results on Monday.  The Board has urged students and parents to check for official update at cisce.org. 

This year the ICSE Class 10 exam was held from March 10 and concluded on April 21. Earlier the exam was scheduled to begin from February 27 and end on March 31, commenced on March 10 and concluded on April 21. 

“The results are not going to be announced today. The evaluation work is still very much on even today,” said Gerry Arathoon, CISCE chief executive and secretary told an English Daiy over phone from Sri Lanka.

To put an end to all speculation over the date of results, Arathoon said, “We will announce the exact date of results on the council’s website much in advance.”

He said, “We cannot give you the dates as of now. We are working on it. And once the evaluation work ends we will announce the result dates.”

Last year the Results for ICSE class 10 was announced on May 6, in 2015 on May 18 and in 2014 on May 21.

Last year, Around 1,68,591 candidates appeared for the ICSE class 10th exams including 92,900 boys and 75,691 girls. The pass percentage for ICSE class 10th exam 2016 was 98.54% where girls did better as compared to boys with 98.93%. The pass percentage of boys was 98.13%.  Last year, the result was declared on May 6, along with the ISC Class 12 result.

The total pass percentage for ICSE was 98.54% in 2016 while the pass percentage for ISC was 96.56% and girls have done better than boys at both ICSE and ISC examinations last year.

The Council has been so constituted as to secure suitable representation of: Government of India, State Governments/Union Territories in which there are Schools affiliated to the Council, the Inter-State Board for Anglo-Indian Education, the Association of Indian Universities, the Association of Heads of Anglo-Indian Schools, the Indian Public Schools' Conference, the Association of Schools for the ISC Examination and members co-opted by the Executive Committee of the Council.
