New Delhi:

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday conducted the last examination, Biology subject, for the Science stream students of class 12 across the countrywide.

Biology has always been considered as an easy subject by the students, but the length of the question paper has bothered them forever. This time too, the question paper was termed as ‘easy’ and ‘scoring’ by the students as well as the teachers from various schools across the country.

A government school teacher of Delhi said “Someone told me that the paper has many tricky questions but when I saw the paper, I found it was an average paper. Only one question was bit difficult rest of the paper was good.”

Shruti Gupta, PGT Biology of Evergreen Public School, Vasundhra Enclave, Delhi, said, “It is a balanced paper. Most of the questions are application based. Some more diagrams-based questions were expected. The students with thorough knowledge of the subject matter should be able to score well.”

Aarushi Gupta from the same school termed the paper ‘unexpectedly easy’ and said, “The paper was unexpectedly easy. All the questions were not direct but however easy. It was not a lengthy paper.”

Not only in the National capital, students from all over the world were content with the Biology question paper and expected higher marks.

Shreyasi Roy Choudhary of Guru Teg Bahadur Academy, Tinsukia, Assam, said, “My Biology paper today was indeed amazing. The paper was easy, not lengthy and great in content. I expect cent per cent marks.”

Students from GD Goenka Public School in Lucknow said that the paper was quite balanced. They added that questions from Section A and Section B were objective questions and a bit tricky, while Section C, Section D, and Section E had direct and to-the-point questions.

Vaishnavi, a student of Holy Mission School of Patna, said, “I am sure I will score above 60 out of 70 and if the board adapts lenient marking I will score above 65. I attempted all the questions and solved it before time.”

Antara Mitra, the biology teacher in Notre Dame Academy, Patna, said, “Short answer type questions carrying 2 marks each and the objective type question carrying one mark each were tricky. Only those students who would have done thorough study from the book could have solved it. Questions from sections like ecology and pollution were asked and were easy for the students.”

Anita Srivastava, a senior Biology teacher at Gangagurukulam School in Allahabad, said, “The three questions of five marks each on double fertilisation in flowering plants, human reproduction and ecosystem with each of the three questions having an option were easy and well attempted by students. Eleven questions of three marks each on topics like evolution, genetics, biotechnology and diversity, etc were also scoring. The 70 marks paper was well balanced and all topics were covered adequately.”

The CBSE Boards 2018 had witnessed a total number of 11,86,306 students appear for class 12 examinations, while 16,38,428 students appeared for the class 10 examinations throughout the country.
