Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt are all set to take the audience on a musical ride with their upcoming film Gully Boy. The Zoya Akhtar directorial has been making waves ever since the first look of the two lead stars were unveiled.

The star cast of the film recently wrapped up their shoot, but it seems Ranveer is yet to finish with his work. The Baajirao Mastani actor will soon record a song with a popular actress for the musical drama.

The talented actress is none other than Kalki Koechlin. The Dev D actress will reunite with her Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara director for the film.

The Margarita with a Straw star will play the role of a video producer in the film and is learning how to rap. Gully Boy is based on the story of street rappers of Mumbai and hence the said will involve a rap in it.

While talking to PTI, That Girl in Yellow Boots actress revealed the details of her character in the movie.

“We did not prepare much except that we listened to a lot of rap. I started listening to Divine, Naezy, and tried to understand where this voice was coming from. My character has studied music in Berkeley and she comes back and is producing a video, she also writes music as well,” Kalki Koechlin told PTI.

When asked about working with Zoya, Kalki applauded the Dil Dhadakne Do director and said she was fun to work with.

"I love Zoya, she is so much fun. She has a great sense of humour and timing and that shows in her script. At the same time, she is specific with what she wants as a director," Kalki told the news agency.

Gully Boy, which also stars Prakash Raj, Ali Asgar and Pooja Gaur, will hit the silver screens on February 14 next year.
