65th National Film Awards LIVE: Here's a list of winners

New Delhi:

The prestigious 65th National Film Awards were announced on Friday and late actress Sridevi has been awarded the best actress award posthumously for her performance in Mom.

Besides, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and Rajkummar Rao's Newton too have emerged as major winners.

The winners were decided by a 10 members jury which is headed by renowned filmmaker Shekhar Kapur. The award giving ceremony will reportedly be held on May 3.

Notably, the National Film Awards 2017 invited a major controversy after Akshay Kumar won the Best actor award for his performance in Rustom. It was alleged that he won the award as a result of favoritism by the then jury head, filmmaker Priyadarshan.

It will be interesting to see how the audience will react to this year's National Film Award winner's list.
