Superstar Aamir Khan was honoured with the 75th Master Dinanath Mangeshkar Award for his blockbuster "Dangal". RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat presented the Vishesh Puraskar, part of the Dinanath Mangeshkar Awards given to eminent personalties in various fields.
Ever since loosing the Filmfare Award to Shah Rukh Khan for Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in 1996, Aamir believed his own performance in Rangeela was better than the former and decided to boycott every award show.
In 2015 when Aamir made a statement regarding intolerance, and revealed that he and wife Kiran had discussed the possibility of moving countries as the couple do not feel safe in the country. The actor was highly criticised on social media and was tagged as 'anti-nationalist'.

Aamir who is known in the industry, as an actor who never attends any award shows, was trending on Twitter regarding his attendance in the show.
