New Delhi:

Akshay Kumar, who recently won praises from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the trailer of his upcoming movie 'Toilet:Ek Prem Katha', is all set to create another sensation in B-town as the actor might get into the PM's shoes on the big screen. According to the media reports, Akshay Kumar will soon essay the role of PM Modi in one of his upcoming movies.

While not much details have been revealed about the movie, it is being reported that Kumar has bagged the role owing to his widespread appeal. Central Board of Film Certification’s chairperson Pahlaj Nihlani was quoted saying to DNA that no one can be better at playing PM Modi's role on the silver screen other than Akshay Kumar.

“I can’t think of anyone better to play our Prime Minster than Akshay. He has a spotless image of an idealist and visionary. And look at the kind of work he’s doing. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Padman are the cinema of social reform that Guru Dutt and V Shantaram were associated with. Also, Akshay has risen from humble working class beginnings to become a national star, just like Modiji. We are certainly looking at a strong possibility of Akshay playing Modiji,” Nahalani was quoted as saying.

On the other hand, a source source close to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) reportedly told India Today and said "The kind of reach and impact that Akshay Kumar's presence will have in a story on Modi would be far-reaching and productive."

This was not all. Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha too had lauded Akshay and claimed him to be the right choice to essay the role of PM Modi on the silver screen. He told the daily, "Akshay is the Mr Clean of India. His image goes well with the image of the New Shining India."

Interestingly, as per a report published in DNA Akshay has bagged the role after beating Paresh Rawal, Anupam Kher and even Victor Banerjee.

Currently, Akshay is busy promoting 'Toilet:Ek Prem Katha' opposite Bhumi Pednekar. Helmed by Shree Narayan Singh, the movie will hit the screens on August 4.
