Tamil actress Oviya Helen, one of the most popular contestants of Kamal Haasan's 'Bigg Boss Tamil', who walked out of the show owing to some mental health issues, has been summoned by the Nazarathpet police in connection with a complaint alleging that she had attempted suicide inside the sets of the show.
In his police complaint, the advocate said that participants in the show were required to live in a closed compound and they can only leave the compound with the permission of the show producers.
With Oviya's alleged suicide attempt on the show that was telecasted on August 4 by Vijay TV, the lawyer has urged police to launch a probe in the matter.
He further stated that Oviya had suffered depression due to engagement rules and tough tasks, the show’s host and Vijay TV. Hence, they had driven her to attempt suicide and telecast the same to increase TRP ratings.
Nazarathpet police Inspector Jaichandran said preliminary investigation is under way. “We have recorded the complaint in the Community Social Register (CSR). We spoke to Oviya’s personal secretary, who denied that she attempted suicide”, he told The Hindu.
