New Delhi:

A Bengali actress was allegedly molested near Siriti More area in Kolkata when she was returning from the shoot in the midnight. She and her driver were heading towards Behala where she lives in southwest Kolkata.

The actress lodged a complaint with the police that three drunk men stopped her car on road. She and her driver felt that something had hit the car but later it turns out to be a stone.

To find out, she said, “I asked my driver to enquire what it was… and both of us rolled down the windowpanes. Two youths appeared and one of them accused the driver of almost mowing him down. They were drunk’’.

Explaining the further incident, she said that when she tried to get past them and gave them police warning, one of them snatched the car keys and throw it away.

She said, “I was returning from a shoot…. I’m otherwise a brave woman but I was scared after the car key was taken away. I got off the car with my driver and pleaded before them with folded hands. We requested them to forgive us if there was any mistake by my driver. But they assaulted my driver’’.

Adding to it, she said ‘One of them grabbed my shoulder and shoved me. They told me that I had to slap my driver 10 times and he had to slap me back 10 times. Then I was asked to do 40 squats. If they didn’t like my squats, I’d have to do 40 more’’.

Police official said that they arrested one of the guy right after the incident and the other man in the morning and searching for the third person.

A case has been registered against them under IPC section 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation).
