It's just a couple of days left for the much awaited release of Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif's 'Jagga Jasoos' to hit the screens. And while everyone is waiting for the release of the movie, Ranbir has spilled the beans about the sequels of Jagga Jasoos.
During a recent promotional event of the movie, RK said that 'Jagga Jasoos' will end on a cliff hanger, leaving hopes for the a sequel. However, he also clarified that the sequel will certainly depend on how 'Jagga Jasoos' will fare at the box office.
"We have left the film on a cliffhanger, where it needs a part two or three. If they accept it, then we would love to take the character and the genre forward," said Ranbir, who turned producer for the film.
He said their team earlier wanted to do a spin-off or an origin story but the plans were shelved after 'Jagga Jasoos' took more than three years to make. "In the first year when we were working on the film, we thought about a TV show, a prequel like 'Junior Jagga' or a spin-off. But the film took a lot of time and it was a hard film to make."
He said they were scared for the film due to various reasons - including delays and the much publicised break-up between Ranbir and the movie's leading actress Katrina Kaif. "It took three-and-a-half years to make the film. We were surrounded by a lot of negativity, like why the film is taking so much time, about Katrina and myself. But we just went with the right intention."
Interestingly, Ranbir-Katrina will be teaming up together for the first time in 'Jagga Jasoos' post their break up in 2016 and their off screen equation is making the heads turn. We wonder if it will do wonders for the movie in any way.
Helmed by Anurag Basu, 'Jagga Jasoos' will hit the screens on July 14.
