Simran box office collection first day: Kangana Ranaut starrer gets a decent start, earns Rs 2.77 cr

Kangana Ranaut has been the recent talk of the town, not just for her personal life, but also for her latest release. The diva has taken over the theatres with Simran, a Hansal Mehta directorial, in which Kangana plays the lead role.

Simran got rave reviews from the critics, with Kangana winning all the praises for her acting skills. However, despite all the hype around the movie and the positive responses, the movie opened to a lukewarm response at the box office and made a business of Rs 2.77 cr on its day of releae.

Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh took it to micro-blogging site Twitter to share first day box office collections of Simran.

According to Taran, Simran has shown growth at plexes of metros. It is reported that the movie will witness a hike in business in the weekend with a good word of mouth.


Talking about the story of this Hansal Mehta directorial, Simran is a story of a 30-year old US based Gujarati housekeeping girl who despite her flaws of being a kleptomaniac, divorce, gambler and alcoholic, dreams to fulfill her dreams.

Interestingly, the movie witnessed a box office clash with Farhan Akhtar's Lucknow Central which too has opened to an average response. It will be interesting to see who will take over the box office after the opening weekend.
