Filmmaker Boney Kapoor says Akshaye Khanna may have chosen to stay away from the spotlight, but it does not take away from the fact that he is a "fantastic" actor.
Akshaye plays a cop in Boney's upcoming production "Mom" which features Sridevi in the lead role.
"Akshaye is a bundle of talent. He remains reclusive but is exclusive. We were fortunate to have him on board. His contribution to the film has been immense. He has been so motivated that he knows the script at the back of his head.
"He is an asset to our film and an asset to the film industry. He is a fantastic actor and a great human being."
The team of the film are in the capital to promote the movie, slated to release on July 7.
Sridevi, who has also worked with Akshaye's father veteran actor Vinod Khanna in films like "Chandani" and "Pathar Ke Insan", says the 42-year-old actor is "well brought up".
"Working with Akshaye was a pleasure. I remember seeing him when I used to work with his father Vinod Khanna ji. I never thought this boy will work in films and become such a great actor. He is a well brought up. Very few people in film industry are so down to earth. He does a wonderful job with all his roles."
Directed by Ravi Udyawar, "Mom" also features Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
