New Delhi:

Athiya Shetty has vehemently rubbished the news of dating her 'Mubarakan' co-star Arjun Kapoor and stated that such link-up rumours are part and parcel of the industry.

Apparently, there have been reports about the couple's relationship for a while now. In fact, Arjun and Athiya are often, reportedly, spotted spending quality time together which even added fuel to the fire. Besides, her chemistry with Arjun, whom she'll be romancing for the first time on screen in 'Mubarakan' doesn't let the rumours of their affair die down.

However, Athiya stated that she is completely unfazed by such gossips.

“I don’t deal with these things. I just laugh out loud at all these reports. It’s new for me, but I don’t take it too seriously because I have known Arjun since always. So, for the media it’s news, but I have always known him,” Shetty was quoted saying to Deccan Chronicle.

The 'Hero' actress also asserted that even her family isn't much bothered about such rumours. “It never makes it to dinner table conversations. It’s not awkward, but a part and parcel of the film industry," Athiya added.

Athiya, who happens to be Suniel Shetty's daughter, had made her debut with 2015 release 'Hero' opposite Sooraj Pancholi. Unfortunately, her maiden movie flunked at the box office.

Talking about the same, the young actress stated, "Because it was our first film, we didn’t know what was going on. Somewhere, I did lose my confidence as the movie didn’t meet the expectations. But now I have accepted who I am, and I am working on regaining my poise."

Arjun Kapoor's 'Mubarakan' happens to be Athiya's second movie and she has been pretty excited about it. Apart from the rumoured couple, the movie also stars Anil Kapoor, Ileana D'Cruz and Neha Sharma in key roles.

A Anees Bazmee directorial, 'Mubarakan' will hit the theatres on July 28 this year.
